TEHRAN, Jun. 16 (MNA) � Deputy of AEOI Behrouz Kamalvandi has criticized those who make the NPT�s Additional Protocol a taboo word, saying their misconceived notion of the Protocol will cause problems for both Iran and other countries.

Deputy head of Atomic Energy Organizaion of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi made the remark during the unveiling ceremony of Mohammad Saeid Ahadian�s book, From Saadabad to Lausanne, on Monday.

�Unfortunately, there is a misconceived notion of the IAEA�s inspections and the Additional Protocol among certain groups. They make the Protocol a taboo word and engage in broad interpretations of it which will cause problems for Iran and other countries on the global scene,� he said.

Noting that the author of From Saadabad to Lausanne has made a correct decision in distinguishing between President Obama and the US government, Kamalvandi added �I do not intend to redeem Obama as it was him who said he sought to dismantle Iran�s nuclear industry, but it must be noted that Obama�s stance is different from the stance of the US government as a whole.�

Kamalvandi further maintained that the significance of Fordow plant was not its enrichment capability, adding �Fordow is only capable of providing 1.5 percent of Bushehr�s nuclear fuel. What makes this plant significant is rather the invincibility of its underground utilities.�
