Rouhani says he is following case of Post reporter

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) -- President Hassan Rouhani says he is following the case of a Washington Post reporter detained for nearly 11 months.

Jason Rezaian, the Post's 39-year-old bureau chief in Tehran, has had two trial sessions at a Revolutionary Court that handles security issues.

Rouhani told a press conference Saturday that he is committed to pursuing the legal rights of all Iranians, even citizens of other countries who live in Iran, and Rezaian's case is no exception.

Rezaian faces charges including espionage and spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic, which the Post has said carry 10 to 20-year prison sentences if he is convicted. U.S. officials, the Post and rights groups have strongly criticized Rezaian's trial, demanding he be freed.

Rezaian is a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen, but Iran does not recognize dual nationality.
