Zarif leaves Oman for Kuwait

Muscat, May 26, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who had arrived in Oman on Tuesday morning, left Muscat for Kuwait later in the day.

Zarif is scheduled to attend the 42nd foreign ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) due to be held in Kuwait.

OIC is the world's second largest inter-governmental organization with 57 member countries from four continents.

Zarif's visits to Oman and Kuwait can be seen as a step in line with the Iranian government's reasonable policy to increase bilateral and regional cooperation to counter violence and extremism and find a settlement to regional crises.

During his Muscat visit, the foreign minister held talks with his Omani counterpart on issues of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments.

The two foreign ministers signed an agreement on sea borders between Iran and Oman.]
