TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Saudi Arabias charge daffaires in Tehran to protest at recent rocket attacks by the Saudi-led coalition that hit areas near Iran's embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a.
In the meeting with the Saudi diplomat held in Tehran on Monday night, The Iranian foreign ministry officials voiced Tehrans anger at the landing of two Saudi missiles near the Iranian mission.
The Saudi diplomat was also reminded of the consequences of Riyadhs ignorance about its obligations to protect diplomats and diplomatic premises in Yemen.
On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to launch deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to Yemen's Freedom House Foundation, the Saudi airstrikes have claimed the lives of nearly 4,000 Yemeni people so far while more than 7,000 others have been wounded, most of them civilians.
