Iran is set to hold its 5th International Urban Film Festival, screening cinematic productions from over 50 countries.
The 2015 edition of the event will present short and feature-length films, as well as documentaries and animations from Iran, China, Egypt, the US, Britain, Palestine, Switzerland, Italy, Serbia and dozens of other countries.
Some 366 productions will take part in this years national and international competition sections.
Today by Reza Mirkarimi, Trapped by ParvizShahbazi and A Time for Love by Alireza Raisianare the Iranian films which will participate in the international competition section, vying with films from 52 other countries.
Iranian cineastes PirouzKalantari, NargesAbyar, Kamran Maleki, VahidMousayian, MojtabaRaei and BahramTavakolli are among the jury members who will judge this years participants in different categories and sections.
Graphic designers and photographers from Iran and other countries will also get the chance to present their film posters and photographs during the 10-day event.
The festival will also hold filmmaking, cinematography and scriptwriting workshops for cinema enthusiasts of all ages.
Affiliated to the Art and Culture Department of the Tehran Municipality,Irans fifth International Urban Film Festival will run from May 24to June 2 in 11 movie theaters across the Iranian capital.
The annual festival aims to improve the quality of city life and urban culture, and protect and promote the Iranian - Islamic lifestyle.
