Tehran, May 20, IRNA � Iran has coordinated dispatch of aid to Yemen with the international bodies including the UN, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Wednesday.

Speaking in a weekly press conference, she said that Iran has dispatched its humanitarian aid to Yemen in coordination with the UN, International Federation of Red Cross and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

All the international institutions will counter any action against Iranian aid ship for Yemen, Afkham added.

She urged the international community to prevent Saudi airstrikes against Yemen and asked them to provide Yemeni people with more relief aids.

Afkham referred to certain countries' provocative actions or remarks about Yemen crisis, adding that the Yemen issue has political solutions and it should be resolved by Yemeni people themselves through dialogue.

Speaking about Saudi accusations about Iran's interference in Yemen, she said that putting the blames on others will not help resolution of Yemen crisis.

To a question about the case of abuse of two Iranian teenage pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, Afkham said that Iran's embassy in the region would pursue the case and hope that those behind the issue are punished.

An Iranian ship carrying 2,500 tons of humanitarian emergency supplies to war-torn Yemen, following coordination with the United Nations humanitarian and emergency aid agency is scheduled to arrive in the western Yemeni port city of Hudaydah on May 21.

It set sail from Iran�s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on May 11.

International activists, volunteer doctors and media personnel are on board the ship.

Riyadh has blocked earlier Iranian aid deliveries to Yemen. Last month, it prevented two Iranian civilian planes from delivering medical aid and food supplies to the Muslim people.

Saudi Arabia got involved in military aggression on Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Ansarullah movement, which currently controls the capital, Sana�a, and major provinces, and to restore power to Yemen�s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Johannes Van der Klaauw has declared that over 1,600 people have been killed and more than 6,200 injured in Yemen since conflict intensified there in late March.

He added that some 450,000 people have been displaced in Yemen by the Saudi air strikes.
