Qeshm, May 18, IRNA Managing Director of Qeshm Free Zone Hamid Reza Momeni has said building the Persian Gulf Bridge is a strategy for the realization of the 2025 Vision Plan in the country and necessary for acceleration of economic development of the zone.
Momeni made the remarks while inspecting the construction operation of the Persian Gulf bridge on this southern island.
He said the huge project would be a bridge to connect different sectors of the countrys economy.
Momeni added roads are the most important infrastructure for development of the countrys economy. He noted connecting the Qeshm Island to the mainland is highly important for transport of goods.
The official also appreciated efforts made by the Iranian experts working on the project noting that is the indication of high level of Iranians capability.
The Persian Gulf Bridge with a length of 2400 meters and a width of 32 meters is equipped with six main foundations and four anchor pillars. It is to connect Qeshm Island from the historic port of Laft to Pahal port in Bandar Abbas in Hormuzgan Province.
