Saudi aircraft pound southern Yemen

Saudi aircraft have carried out new airstrikes against Yemen, as Riyadhcontinues its illegal military aggression against the impoverished country.

On Thursday, Saudi warplanes targeted the districts of Khor Maksar and Dar Saad in the southern city of Aden. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.

This came a day after Saudi jets carried out two raids in the mountainous Faj Attan region in the capital, Sanaa.

According to Adens health chief Al-Khader Laswarthat, eight people, including three civilians, were also killed in overnight clashes. More than 40 others were also wounded in the clashes.

Riyadh launched its airstrikes against Yemen on March 26 without a United Nations mandate. Saudi Arabia aims to undermine the Houthis and restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

The regimes warplanes have repeatedly targeted residential areas across the country.

On April 21, Riyadh announced the end of the first phase of its unlawful military operations, which claimed the lives of nearly 1,000 people; but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.

Official Yemeni reports say nearly 250 women and children have been killed so far.
