Natural gas production up by 10%

TEHRAN April 26(Shana)--Natural gas output hit 202 billion cubic meters (bcm) last year, up by 10 percent against a year earlier, director of dispatching department at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Manouchehr Taheri said.

He noted that the volume of gas exports stood at 9.7 bcm last year, up by 4 percent against a year earlier.

Gas delivery to power plants rose as well reaching more than 50 bcm last year in comparison with the preceding year that gas consumption by power plants hit 36 bcm indicating a 38 percent rise year-on-year, NIGC official said, predicting gas delivery to power plants to hike this year by 10 bcm more this year.

Taheri said during the past Iranian calendar year that came to a close on 21st March 2015, gas delivery to industrial sector hit 32.5 bcm, up by 9 percent year-on-year.
