Ansarullah denies alliance with Abdullah Salih

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior member of Ansarullah movement underlined that the recent statements by the ousted Yemeni president, Ali Abdullah Salih, shows that there is no relationship between the toppled dictator and Ansarullah.

"Abdullah Salih's statements reflect his personal stances and are based on his own interests; we do not approve of them," the Ansarullah member said.

Abdullah Salih had asked Ansarullah to accept the UN Security Council's resolution in return for a halt to the Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen.

Some people close to Abdullah Salih have asked Mansour Salih to prepare the grounds for the safe exit of Abdullah Salih from Yemen.

Since Abdullah Salih does not have any popular support in Yemen, he occasionally proposes a new political plan to Saudi Arabia in a bid to gain political concessions for himself and his political party.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for the last 31 days in a move to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has claimed the lives of around 2,915 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children. The attacks have also left thousands of people injured.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
