KABUL (PAN): Iran has offered 500 scholarships to Afghan students through establishing an international caliber university in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Higher Education said on Monday.
An agreement to the effect was signed between Afghan higher education minister Dr. Obaidullah Obaid and his Iranian counterpart, Kamran Daneshjoo, during Obaid's recent trip to the neighbouring country, the ministry spokesman Mohammad Azim Noor told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Obaid returned from his four-day trip after Iranian officials pledged the university's establishment by following Afghanistan's rules and regulations, he added.
Iranian news agency Irna quoted Dabesghoo as saying the proposed Iran-Afghanistan university would be established in near future through which Iran would share its experiences with its neighbour.
Iran offered scholarships for 300 master's degree, 120 PhD and 80 bachelor degree, Noor said.
