TEHRAN April 15(Shana)--Iran is to stop feeding power plants with fuel oil as part of its efforts to reduce air pollution, a deputy head of the Department of the Environment said.
Saeed Motesadi said the issue is being followed up on this year by ministries of petroleum and energy.
He said that elimination of fuel oil from power plants would largely contribute to cleaner air in big cities.
Iran has been supplying natural gas to power plants and distributing euro-4 gasoline in densely populated cities in order to save them from choking air pollution.
