Tehran, April 14, IRNA - President of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) affiliated to the State Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati on Tuesday urged cooperation between Iran and Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistan ambassador to Tehran, Noor Muhammad Jadmani.

Praising Pakistan parliament's stance toward the crisis in Yemen, Velayati called Iran-Pakistan relations as strategic.

Iran is committed to boost ties with the neighboring countries including Pakistan, he added.

Valayati noted that Iran has always supported Palestinian cause and believes that they can conquer their freedom.

Extremist groups like ISIL have been created by US and do not have any contradiction with Zionist regime, he underlined.

The official said that Saudi Arabia is invading Yemen and killing people there and in the meantime, supports US and Zionist regime.

Jadmani for his part praised growing relations between Iran and Pakistan.

The Pakistani envoy stressed boost of all out ties between the two countries particularly in the field of economy.

After the independence of Pakistan in August 1947, Iran was the first country to recognize the sovereign status of Pakistan.

At present, both countries are cooperating and forming alliances in a number of areas of mutual interest, such as fighting drug trade.
