TEHRAN, Apr. 11 (MNA) Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister has said Saudi airport security agents harassing two Iranian young Hajj pilgrims are kept in custody.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi announced that the two Saudi officers who had sexually harassed two teenage Iranian pilgrims at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah have been arrested.
In a meeting with Irans ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hossein Sadeghi in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Wednesday, Saudi senior official called the act of sexual harassment by Saudi airport security agents as embarrassing and regrettable.
The perpetrators behind the sexual assault on two teenage Iranian Hajj pilgrims have been identified and detained and will receive maximum punishment, he promised.
While performing body search on passengers, Saudi officers allegedly took the 14- and 15-year-old teenagers away citing suspicion, sounded off the alarm at the gate, and subjected them to the immoral behavior.
