Any final deal between six powers and Iran on its disputed nuclearprogrammust include recognition of Israel's right to exist, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday.
TEL AVIV (Sputnik) The Israeli prime minister voiced Thursday "strong opposition" tothe international agreement onIran's nuclear development program."Israel demands that any final agreement withIran will include a clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition ofIsrael's right toexist," Netanyahu said ina statement followinga meeting withcabinet members todiscuss Thursday's framework agreement betweenP5+1 negotiators and Iran.
"Israel will not accept an agreement which allows a country that vows toannihilate us todevelop nuclear weapons, period," the Israeli leader added.
He said that ina few years, the restrictions onIran's nuclear program underthe deal would be removed thus enabling Iran tohave a "massive enrichment capacity" that could be used byTehran toproduce many nuclear bombs withinseveral months.
On Thursday, Tehran and the P5+1 group ofinternational mediators reached a breakthrough framework deal onthe Iranian nuclear program inLausanne, Switzerland, agreeing ona number ofkey issues that include uranium enrichment, the number ofcentrifuges and sanctions imposed onthe Islamic republic.
Netanyahu said that the deal did not prevent Iran fromdeveloping nuclear weapon, but, onthe contrary, paved a way forIran toproduce it.
