Kuala Lumpur, March 30, IRNA Iran's parliamentary delegation called the UAE claim over the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf as unfounded.
The Iranian delegation, attending the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Hanoi, Vietnam, made the remarks on Sunday.
A member of the Iranian parliamentary delegation said the UAE claim is in contrast to the international rights.
Gholam Reza Nouri Qezeljeh said it will also damage good relations between the two neighboring states.
He also rejected such a claim made by the United Arab Emirates, saying it has no impact on the existing realities about the Iranian islands.
In response to the UAE unfounded claim over the southern Iranian islands, Iran's Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stressed that those islands are inseparable parts of the country.
The IPU Assembly kicked off on 28 March and will end on April 1.
