The P5+1 and Iran have achieved considerable progress in the latest round talks on Tehran's nuclear program, China's chief negotiator told journalists Thursday.
LAUSANNE (Sputnik) Lausanne is holding the fresh roundof negotiations betweenIran and P5+1 group, comprising Russia, United States, the UK, China, France and Germany, onTehran's disputed nuclear program."Talks have had important and considerable progress, butstill differences remain," Wang Qun told the press.The deadline toreach a final agreement that would guarantee the peaceful nature ofthe Iran's nuclear program is set forJuly 2014, afterbeing repeatedly postponed.The western countries believe Iran is trying todevelop nuclear weapons. Tehran repeatedly rejected those claims, stating its uranium enrichment program is only forpeaceful purposes. P5+1 and Iran have held numerous rounds oftalks regarding the issue withlittle success.
