TEHRAN (Tasnim) Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi voiced support for the countrys negotiating team, reaffirming that the final nuclear deal with world powers should result in removal of all anti-Iran sanctions.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UNSC members plus Germany) are in talks to hammer out a final agreement to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehrans civilian nuclear energy program.
Nuclear deal should lift all (anti-Iran) sanctions, and nothing else is acceptable, General Naqdi stressed in an international congress held in Ahvaz, southwest of Iran, on Tuesday.
Iranian nation would never accept a humiliating deal that undermines our dignity, he added.
General Naqdi further deplored the excessive demands of the Western side in nuclear talks, saying that they cannot impose their unreasonable demands on the Iranian nation.
In similar remarks on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that any nuclear deal with world powers should include the outright removal of anti-Iran sanctions.
The latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) over Tehrans atomic energy program is underway in the Swiss city of Montreux.
In the second day of the new round, Iran's negotiating team led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the US team led by Secretary of State John Kerry held bilateral talks on Tuesday.
A plenary session involving Iran and the six powers will be held on March 5.
