TEHRAN Feb 25(Shana)--Iran could double its petrochemical production to 120 million tons a year if 60 half-finished projects come on-stream, project manager at National Petrochemical Company said.
Mazieh Shah-Daei said the 60 projects need $33.4 billion in investment, adding that startup of seven prioritized petrochemical projects will add 2.7 million tons to the countrys petrochemical production capacity.
She said the problems related to the finance of petrochemical projects depend on the outcome of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers.
Shah-Daei also said that 36 new projects are envisaged to increase the countrys petrochemical production by 60 million tons.
