TEHRAN Feb 18(Shana)--Methanol projects in Iran need budget allocation from the National Development Fund of Iran (NDFI), a deputy head of National Petrochemical Company said.

Hassan Peyvandi said the worlds largest methanol project is under way at Kaveh Petrochemical Plant in Dair Port.

Given the high capacity of this project, there is good potential for the development of downstream industries, he said.
Peyvandi said Kaveh methanol project has the production capacity of two million tons, adding that the project is expected to become operational in two years.
Once operational, Kaveh methanol plant will produce 7,000 tons of methanol a day.
