TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran's Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani on Tuesday strongly slammed US State Departments recent remarks about Iran, saying no foreign country is allowed to meddle in the countrys domestic affairs.
US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki in a statement on Saturday had called for the release of a number Iranian prisoners.
Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said in a conference in the western city of Khorramabad that such messages by the US president and others are examples of foreign intervention in the country's affairs.
The time of capitulations is over, and people now would not sell their honor, Irans judiciary chief stressed, referring to the capitulations law enforced in Iran before the 1979 Revolution that granted diplomatic immunity to US nationals.
"No one can meddle in the countrys internal affairs," he added.
In similar remarks on Sunday, Irans Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham also rejected Washingtons meddling, describing the US State Departments comments as an example of interference in Irans domestic affairs.
