
Speaking during a meeting in London on Tuesday, Habibollahzadeh, also Irans non-resident Charg d'affaires in London, underlined his country's commitment to IMO standards as an old member of the organization.
He also stressed Irans readiness to promote cooperation with IMO.
Koji Sekimizu, for his part, hailed Tehrans active presence at the London-based UN organization and called for expanded IMO-Iran cooperation.
IMO, a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the global standard-setting authority for the safety, security and environmental performance of international shipping.
