TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Iranian lawmaker said the country had better bow out of the nuclear talks with world powers should the other side impose fresh anti-Iran sanctions in the course of negotiations.Speaking to Tasnim, member of the parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Hassan Asafari said withdrawing from the talks will be the most logical reaction to possible imposition of new sanction.
He said the parliament has also prepared a bill that will oblige the administration to enrich uranium to 60 percent purity level with the new generation of centrifuge machines if fresh sanctions are imposed on the country.
In similar comments in January, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani unveiled retaliatory plans should the US imposes fresh sanctions on the country over its peaceful nuclear program.
The legislature has seriously considered scenarios to make the US regret if the Congress decides to slap new sanctions on Iran, Larijani said.
He pledged that a jump in Irans nuclear technology will occur in case of fresh sanctions, saying Tehran is absolutely capable of doing that.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are in talks to hammer out a final agreement to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehrans nuclear energy program.
