Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA - Director General of Tehran Province Justice Department Gholam-Hossein Esmaili said on Wednesday that American journalist Jason Rezaei will be put on trial in Iran soon.
Esmaili made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of paying a visit to the mausoleum of the Father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini.
The visit took place on the threshold of the anniversary of the late Imams arrival to Tehran from a long time exile in France, and Iraq.
The final verdict for Rezaei case would be announced at the end of the legal procedures, Esmaili stressed.
The official added that Rezaei has been in touch with his family since his arrest.
Jason Rezaei is an Iranian-born American journalist who was arrested for security charges along with his wife and one of his friends who were released later. Rezaei is in jail waiting for his trial.
