Tehran, Jan 19, IRNA � Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu arrived in Tehran on Monday night.
��He is leading a ranking defense delegation to Iran.
He is to sign a number of defense and military agreements with Iran.

The Russian minister was welcomed in the airport by the Iranian deputy defense minister for international affairs Brigadier General Sirous Nasirpour.

The Russian military official will meet with senior Iranian authorities and discuss ways of expanding military cooperation.

He will also review bilateral ties as well as issues of regional and international importance with them.

The Russian minister is vising Iran upon the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
