Iran, Iraq to boost police cooperation in near future: Police official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) The head of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Iranian Law Enforcement Force said Tehran and Baghdad plan to promote cooperation between police forces of as part of their joint efforts to deepen the two neighboring countries' ties.



Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency on Sunday, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan pointed to the ongoing visit by Iraqi Interior Minister Mohammed Salem al-Ghabban to Tehran and said the two countries plan to boost mutual cooperation.

What is certain is that Iranian and Iraqi police will establish mutual cooperation in a bid to ensure full security in both neighboring countries, he underlined.

Earlier on Sunday, Ghabban visited police headquarters in Tehran, and said, In the visit, we were informed about the measures, plans and technologies of Tehran Police Force and we hope that we would be able to enjoy the plans and technologies.

The Iraqi minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and has held several meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials.
