
According to the Syrian state News Agency (SANA), the claim was carried first by the German weekly Der Spiegel which said Syria has secret plans to produce nuclear arms.
In a report on Monday, the news agency termed as ridiculous the claims said such rumors are parts of a propaganda ploy by countries which are tending to push the international and regional powers into intervening in Syrian domestic affairs.
The German weekly on Sunday quoted a number of western experts as claiming that the Syrian government owns nuclear installations code-named Zam Zam close to the city of Qasir on Lebanese border.
