100 tons garbage, trash recycled in Qeshm daily
Qeshm, Hormuzgan Prov., Jan 12, IRNA Managing Director of Boustan Sabz Qeshm Company Hassan Rahnama said on Monday that more than 100 tons of garbage are processed in Qeshm per day.
Rahnama said the project is done with 20 percent partnership of Qeshm Free Zone Organization's Investment Company.

Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Qeshm Free Zone Organization quoted Rahnama as saying that waste service company, providing garbage collection, recycling, and disposal services, was established in Tavalla city on Qeshm Island at a cost of 1.5 million euros with 80 billion rials being spent on its infrastructures.

He said the plant is capable of recycling up to 200 tons of garbage per day.

He added that only five percent of garbage and trash cannot be recycled, which is the most important advantage of the plant.

Qeshm Investment Development Company has purchased the automatic facilities of the site from the Netherlands to recycle garbage using advanced technology.

Qeshm Island, located in the Persian Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz, is Irans second biggest free trade zone and a unique tourism hub.

As one of the largest islands in the world, Qeshm boasts of numerous natural, historical, religious and trade attractions.

The beautiful nature of Qeshm has not only made it an ideal tourist spot, but also a suitable place for pursuing academic studies.
