Iranian envoy calls for Int
TEHRAN (FNA)- Irans Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Ali Najafi voiced Tehran's concern over the spread of extremist groups in the region, and called on the world states to join campaign against organized violence by these terrorists.
Addressing a conference on the Islamic Unity at the Kyrgyz State University of Arabaev, the Iranian diplomat criticized presenting a reversed interpretation of Islam by Salafi groups which are financially and militarily supported by certain western countries and their regional allies.

He further added that such extremist groups are damaging the portray of Islam and Islamic civilization and spread Islamophobia.

Najafi said the extremist groups have endangered global peace and stability, and said that fighting against extremism requires a collective will and cooperation with participation of entire world nations and international bodies.

In December, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Kenyan Ambassador to Tehran described terrorism and extremism as the most dangerous threats posed to the entire world, and called for collective efforts by all countries, specially the Muslim states, and international bodies to uproot terrorist groups in the region.

"Terrorism and extremism are the biggest threats to the international system," Zarif said during the meeting in the Iranian capital at the time.
