Tehran, Jan 7, IRNA Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayebnia said in Kuwait on Wednesday that Iran is eager to expand ties with Kuwait.
In a meeting with Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber III al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, in Kuwait on Wednesday, Tayebnia convenyed him a message from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and said the Kuwaiti emir's recent Iran visit was a turning point in expansion of bilateral ties.
He said Iran is eager to undertake joint projects with Kuwait in the fields of investment, free trade zones, insurance, banking, tourism and housing. 'We press hand of all friend countries in the region for the sake of regional development and progress so that people will benefit from them.'
Elsewhere in his remarks, Tayebnia said by encouraging moderation, all should prevent hardliners from provoking religious discord in the world of Islam. To this end, regional states should adopt joint stances against the extremist groups, he added.
On Iran-G5+1 talks, Tayebnia said regional and international cooperation should be expanded through removal of disputes and misunderstandings on peaceful nature of Iran nuclear program.
