TEHRAN (Tasnim) Current conditions are better than ever for Hamas political chief Khaled Mashaal to visit Iran, a spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Tuesday.
Al Mayadin TV network quoted Sami Abu Zuhri as saying that it is the best time for Mashaal, the head of Hamas political bureau, to pay a visit to Tehran.
Earlier, Hamas Chief Mashaal told Al-Resalah newspaper that Iran and Hamas have historical relations on resistance against Israel, and Iran has supported the Palestinian resistance movement for a long time. Mashaal added that despite the different approaches the two sides adopted regarding Syria, Iran and Hamas have never cut off their ties.
He pointed to a recent visit by a high-ranking delegation from Hamas to Tehran saying it was aimed at reinforcing the mutual ties.
Mashaal said that his own visit to Iran will take place at the "right time."
Last week, a high-ranking delegation from the Hamas movement visited Tehran.
This delegation was headed by Mohammed Nasr, a member of the political bureau of Palestinian Islamic resistance movement.
During the visit, Mohammed Nasr expressed the Hamas eagerness to enhance ties with Iran.
