Iran's non-oil exports to hit $50 billion

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran's non-oil exports are expected to hit $50 billion by the end of the Iranian calendar year, which ends on March 20, 2015, said Vice Chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce Confederation Mohammad Lahouti.
"It is expected that non-oil exports will hit $50 billion by the end of the year. The prediction is based tallies of the first eight months of Iranian calendar year."

Earlier in August, Irans First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said the countrys non-oil exports reached $16 billion in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started march 21).

Non-oil exports increased by 20 percent in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, he said.

Irans neighboring countries including Iraq are the target markets for Iranian goods and services, he stated.

Irans major exported items comprised liquefied propane, methanol and bitumen and the main export destinations, in descending order, were China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and Turkey.
