Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh on Monday sketched out policies to prevent corruption in the field of oil activities.
Addressing a local seminar on ways to promote healthy administrative strategies, Zanganeh said implementation of financial and executive disciplines have been the key in fight against corruption.
Touching upon other policies to avoid corruption in the field of oil activities, the minister referred to adopting transparent regulations for fuel operation and contracts and for conducting tenders and bids.
Zanganeh also urged the need to establish a stronger system for supervision to prevent administrative corruption in the field of oil activities.
He said that media could play a key role in controlling corruption as it should be realized that 'corruption will grow in the dark.'
According to Zanganeh, establishing a headquarters to fight against corruption, centralization of oil purchase in international markets and formation of a supervisory group to control oil purchase were among major steps taken to prevent administrative corruption in his ministry.
The day-long seminar on ways to promote healthy administrative strategies was inaugurated here by President Hassan Rouhani who in his opening address referred to monopoly as one of major causes of the growth of administrative corruption.
The president urged the need for practical, impartial and firm actions against the evil phenomenon.
A message was also sent to the gathering by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Leader urged Iranian authorities in his message to 'make and execute strong and practical decisions to defy corruption with no consideration'.
