President leaves for Inche Boroun border point

Gorgan, Golestan prov, Dec 3, IRNA Train carrying the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani started for Inche Boroun border point Wednesday morning.
Inche Boroun is located in the east of this provincial capital city in northeast of the country on zero border point with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
The railroad connecting Iran to two Central Asian countries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will open today in the presence of the presidents of the three countries.

The inauguration ceremony will be held in Inche Boroun on Iran-Turkmenistan joint borderline.

The railway is of 920 kilometers length, 85 kilometers of which pass through Iran, 700 kilometers through Turkmenistan and 140 kilometers through Kazakhstan.

The route will shorten the distance between the Persian Gulf, Central Asia and Europe by some 600 kilometers, causing reduction in transportation costs.

Passing through Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, it will play a key role in transiting goods on north-south and east-west directions in Asia.

The major part of transit in the world is conducted between China and the West with 350 million tons annually while the corridor plays a pivotal role in connecting China to Europe and Russia and to the Persian Gulf.

The opening of the railway will have positive effects in the region.It will play an important role in line with development of peaceful trade among CIS countries.

In the first years of the opening of the railway some three million tons of commodities will be transported which will gradually increase to five million and 10 million tons.
