Moscow, Dec 2, IRNA Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei in a meeting with Dagestan Republic President Ramadan Abdulatipov considered ways to develop bilateral cooperation.
According to the report of Iran's Embassy Media Department in Moscow on Monday, the two sides underlined expansion of cooperation in promotion of bilateral relations.
President Abdulatipov said that ties with Iran have always been important for Russia, adding that the Russian officials are determined to develop relations with Iran and are trying in this direction.
He added that provincial relations are very important for Russian government, so it was recommended that communications between Russian Republics with neighboring countries provinces be developed.
Dagestan president also said that building freezing houses to keep Iranian agricultural products are on agenda of the Dagestan public and private sectors.
Abdulatipov concluded that activating ties with Iran will cause that radicalism in Dagestan region to lose color and moderate Islam to be strengthened.
In fact, Iran should have a more active presence in the fields of culture and economy in Dagestan region, he continued.
Sanaei, by referring to growing relations between Iran and Russia, said that mutual ties between the two countries have gained momentum in direction of development of cooperation.
Referring to historical, cultural and economic relations between Iran and northern Caucasus regions, including Dagestan, the ambassador called for deepening ties between Dagestan Republic and Iranian provinces.
He also welcomed expansion of trade ties between private sectors of both sides.
Dagestan Republic is located in northwestern of the Caspian Sea.
