Iran, Jordan willing to bolster ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans foreign minister and Jordans ambassador to Tehran in a meeting voiced readiness for expanding bilateral relations.
In a Sunday meeting with Jordans new ambassador to Tehran Abdullah Sulaiman Abdullah Abu Romman, top Iranian diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran is fully prepared to work in close cooperation with the brother country of Jordan.

Zarif said Tehran seeks closer bilateral relations with Amman and eyes joint action with the Arab country to counter extremism and ethnic seditions.

He also urged the necessity for concerted efforts by all countries to resolve the problems that have gripped the region and the Islamic world, particularly Israels crimes against the holy city of al-Quds and the menace of extremism.

For his part, the Jordanian envoy voiced Ammans enthusiasm for enhancing and strengthening ties with Iran.

He also urged the necessity for cultural activities to tackle the menace of extremism and Takfiri groups, and hailed Iran for holding a recent conference that brought Muslim scholars together to explore avenues for fighting extremism.

Last week, Irans central holy city of Qom hosted an international conference on dangers of Takfirism (extremism).
