Iran, Islamic Development Bank call for more cooperation

Istanbul, Nov 27, IRNA More cooperation between Iran and Islamic Development Bank ( IDB) was underlined in a meeting between Minister of Economic and Finance Ali Tayebnia and President of IBD Ahmad Mohamed Ali here on Thursday.
In the meeting, on the sidelines of COMCEC 30th session in Istanbul, Tayebnia appreciated IDB chairman for his positive and constructive connections with Iran.
Expressing hope for development of ties between Iran and IDB, Tayebnia appreciated dispatching delegations from IDB to Iran for expansion of cooperation.

Necessity of expansion of cooperation between IDB with Iran's private sector, using experiences and capacities of the IDB in the fields of training were among other issues discussed in the meeting.

Ahmad Mohamed Ali expressed his willingness to promote cooperation with Iran and said that delegations will be dispatched to Iran to consider the issue of more joint cooperation.

He declared IDB readiness to hold training courses.

Ministers of Economic and Trade as well as senior economic officials and experts from 57 Islamic countries have gathered in Istanbul, Turkey, to discuss tactics for cooperation development among Islamic countries in the fields of tourism, transportation, trade and agriculture.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the inauguration ceremony of the 30th session of OIC Standing Committee on Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) General Assembly held in Istanbul from 25 to 28 November 2014.

In the session, Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani and President of IDB Ahmad Mohamed Ali as well as delegations from members and representatives from international organizations were present.

COMCEC was founded in 1981 in OIC summit and started its work officially in 1984 with the aim of developing coordination in economic and trade cooperation between OIC member states.
