Tehran, Nov 26, IRNA Iran is involved in military campaign against terrorism including Daesh, Deputy Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said on Wednesday.
IRGC Deputy Commander Brigadier-General Hossein Salami made the remarks in a ceremony held to celebrate Basij (volunteer forces) week.
Elaborating on Iranian strategy to fight terrorism and lawlessness, Salami said that Iran has developed military campaign to East Mediterranean Sea and North Africa.
Salami underlined that Basij way of thinking is spreading across the Muslim World and the resistance groups in Palestine and Lebanon defeated the Israeli occupying regime thanks to the Basij philosophy.
He said that the Syrian, Iraqi and Yemeni people became victorious in campaign against extremist groups in line with the Iranian strategy of campaign against terrorism.
The commander derided the hegemonic powers for efforts to pressure Iran by isolation, sanctions and military threats and called country's scientific achievements an outcome of the sanctions.
He said that Basij played a crucial role to thwart the US-backed invasion of Iran by Iraqi Saddam Hussein in 1980 by devotion and heroic sacrifices to lead to the Iranian victory.
