VIENNA, November 23 (Sputnik) US Secretary ofState John Kerry is currently holding talks withGerman Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier withinthe framework ofnegotiations betweenthe P5+1 group ofinternational mediators and Tehran on Iranian nuclear program, a source inthe US delegation told RIA Novosti.
Later onSunday, Steinmeier, Kerry, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and EU chief negotiator Catherine Ashton are expected tohold a working dinner.
Kerry will also reportedly meet withthe Foreign Minister ofSaudi Arabia Saud Faisal toinform him aboutthe course ofthe talks.
"Kerry will meet withSaudi Foreign Minister onSunday toupdate him ontalks," a source close tothe US delegation told Sputnik.
Earlier inthe day, a source inthe Russian delegation told RIA Novosti that Russian Foreign MinisterSergei Lavrovwill be arriving inVienna onSunday, aswell.
The final roundof talks onthe Iranian nuclear program betweenTehran and theP5+1group ofinternational negotiators comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, began inVienna Tuesday.
Tehran claims its nuclear development is aimed purely atcivilian needs, such asmeeting the country's growing energy needs. However, the West suspects Iran ofdeveloping a nuclear weapon underthe guise ofa peaceful program. Iran's earlier nuclear activities triggered the imposition ofsanctions bythe UN Security Council, the United States and the European Union.
In 2013, international negotiators agreed toreach a long-term deal withTehran that would guarantee a peaceful nature ofthe Iranian nuclear program byJuly 2014; however thedeadlinewas later postponed toNovember 24.
