Iran to build oil storage tanks in Indonesia
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian energy official underlined that Tehran and Jakarta are resolved to expand their cooperation in oil and petrochemical sectors, and informed that Iran will construct a number of storage tanks in Indonesia.

We are planning to build storage tanks in one of the free zones of this country (Indonesia) in the coming months, Managing Director of the National Iranian Petrochemical Commercial Company (NIPCC) Mehdi Sharifi Niknafs said in a press conference on Friday.

He further added that Jakarta is interested in importing oil products and petrochemicals from Iran, following the drastic decrease of Indonesia's oil output during the course of the past few years.

Earlier this month, the Indonesian minister of energy and mineral resources announced that his country is mulling import of crude supplies from Iran.

"The Indonesian government is planning to increase its oil imports through direct purchase from the producers, and Iran is one of the options for this purpose," Sudirman Saeed said.

He said that President Joko Jokowi Widodo has ordered the government to purchase oil directly from producers.
