Gasoil selling rises 29 times
TEHRAN Nov 12 (Shana)--Selling gasoil at a border point with Afghanistan in Southern Khorasan province rose by 29 times reaching 147 thousand litres over the first half of the Iranian month of Aban.
Director of Oil Products Distribution Company in Southern Khorasan province Ali Asghar Asghari made the remarks adding sharp rise in selling gasoil in Mahiroud border area was the result of enforcing full tank fuel plan.
While prior to enforcement of the plan, average gasoil sale stood at 5 thousand litres per month, it has risen by 29 times over the first 15 days of current Iranian month of Aban began on Oct 23 Asghari told Shana.
Asghari noted that the price of the gasoil in border with Afghanistan is not fixed and depends on the price of the product in the nearest gas station to the border point in Afghanistan territory. Under the plan the company has sold each liter of gasoil at the border with Afghanistan at 22.000 rials.
Full fuel tank plan has already been implemented in other border areas including border points with Turkey and Dogharoun customs in Khorasan Razavi province, a border crossing point with Afghanistan.
Under the plan, trucks crossing Irans border have to fill their fuel tanks. Removing spare fuel tanks mounted on trucks crossing the border, necessity of using standard fuel tanks and curbing fuel smuggling are the other goals of implementation of the plan.
