Iran, Afghanistan border commanders stress boost in ties

Mashhad, Khorassan Razavi Prov, Nov 9, IRNA Border guards commanders of Iran and Afghanistan stressed the need for further cooperation between the two countries on various issues pertaining to border security.


 
In a joint meeting hosted by the Iranian borderline forces in the city of Taibad in this northeastern province, Afghan General Shafiq Fazli stressed that Kabul is determined to further boost the long standing friendly relations with Iran in different areas such as politics and culture.


Iran's Brigadier General Qassem Rezaie noted that the one-day event mainly examined such issues as controlling and blocking border points, decreasing drugs trafficking from Afghanistan, stopping illegal entry of foreign nationals and security of Iranian truck drivers in Afghanistan.

He underscored the need for expanding and consolidating mutual cooperation and friendly ties.
