Israeli forces reportedly kill Palestinian man in W Bank

[caption id="attachment_110572" align="alignright" width="150"] Israeli soldiers chase a Palestinian near the town of Al-Bireh on August 9, 2014.[/caption]
Israeli forces have reportedly shot dead a young Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank.
Witnesses said Israeli troops raided the village of Kafr Kanna early Saturday and opened fire on 22-year-old Khair Lotfi Hamdan following an altercation with him.

The Palestinian died of his wounds in the hospital shortly afterwards.

Israeli police, however, claim that they first fired into the air to warn the young man and shot him in the chest later when they felt threatened.

Israeli troops carry out raids in villages in the West Bank nearly on a daily basis. They have abducted hundreds of Palestinians without charge during such raids.

The incident comes as tensions have been running high at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) over the past few weeks.

Palestinians are extremely angry at Tel Avivs raids as well as its new restrictions on the access of Palestinians to the mosque, considering the moves as part of the Israeli regimes plan to judaize and desecrate the holy Islamic site.
