The Iranian drama Snow directed by Mehdi Rahmani has been selected to contend for awards at the 25th Singapore International Film Festival.
The movie will be screened in the Asian Cinema section of the festival scheduled for December 4-14.
Rahmanis screen creation, which injects black comedy into the film, depicts bitter conflicts in a modern Iranian family.
The film has been displayed in a number of international events such as the 2014 Shanghai International Film Festival in China and the 16th International Mumbai Film Festival in India.
Snow also represented Iranian cinema at the 38th Sao Paulo International Film Festival held in October.
Snow, a contemporary domestic drama, received the APSA Academy Children's Film Fund award.
The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore.
Founded in 1987, the festival focuses on showcasing international films and providing a global platform for the best of Singapore cinema.
