Athens, Nov 6, IRNA Iran's newly-appointed ambassador to Cyprus Reza Zabib and Cypriot Speaker of Parliament Yannakis Omiru, in a meeting on Thursday explored ways to further promote bilateral relations, according to Cyprus News Agency.
During the meeting, the two sides underlined the necessity of parliamentary relations between Tehran and Nicosia.
The Cypriot speaker noted that his country, as an EU member state, would do its utmost to boost relations between Iran and the European Union.
Referring to Cyprus' influential role in the region, Omiru said that Nicosia government welcomes increased ties with Iran.
He hailed Iran's support for finding a fair solution to Cyprus issue based on international regulations.
