Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan Prov, Nov 6, IRNA - Prosecutor General Ebrahim Raeisi on Thursday stressed that harshest sentences await acid attackers.
Speaking to reporters in Zahedan, he said that investigations for finding the individuals or groups behind the acid attacks in Isfahan will continue.
Certain foreign media used the crime as a tool to show Iran is insecure, the official added.
He noted that all Iranian political groups have condemned the crimes and called for punishment of the culprits.
The Judiciary is committed to confront all individuals or groups who seek to undermine the country's security and stability, Raeisi said.
President Hassan Rouhani has tasked the ministries of interior, intelligence and justice with launching an investigation into the acid attacks.
Judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei has vowed that the individuals responsible for the acid attacks on women in Isfahan will be brought to justice.
The acid attacks against at least four women took place in Isfahan two weeks ago.
