UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson[/caption]TEHRAN (Tasnim) UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Kenneth Eliasson is planned to arrive in Tehran on Tuesday to participate in a ceremony to commemorate the United Nations Day, the UN spokesman announced.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, which is co-sponsored by the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the UN officials in Tehran, Eliasson plans to hold meetings with a number of high-ranking Iranian officials, UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters on Monday.
Dujarric also said that Eliasson will pay a three-day visit to Tehran, but he did not give any further details about the possible issues to be raised in his meetings with Iranian officials.
The UN spokesman also said that Eliasson on Monday made a trip to Iraq and held talks with the Iraqi officials.
