Inflation rate dropped by 1.5% last month

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA Iran Statistical Center announced the inflation rate for the 12 months ending to the month of Mehr (September/October) at 19.1% showing a drop of 1.5% as compared to the previous month, Shahrivar.
The main index in the month of Mehr shows the figure 197.0 which increased 1.4% in comparison with a month ago. Increase in the main index in comparison with the corresponding month last year (point to point inflation) is 14.2% which has remained stable compared to the month before.
The percentage of the main index (urban inflation rate) in the 12 months ending to the month of Mehr this year compared to the same period last year is 19.1% which shows a decrease as compared to the same figure for the month of Shahrivar, 20.6%.

The index of the main group, foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco, in the said month reached 230.0 which showed an increase of 0.2% over the previous month. The index of the main group, foodstuffs, reached 228.4 in the said month which showed an increase of 0.2% over the month before.

The index of the main group, foodstuffs, showed an increase of 7.9 over the same month in the past year and the 12-month inflation rate of this group stood at 18.2%.
