IRNA Managing Director of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company Hashem Namvar referred to several long-term projects underway in the refinery and said the most important is the one in line with promotion of quality and increase in production capacity of gasoline which will become operational next year. Speaking in a ceremony to mark activities of premier units on Thursday, he said the projects were launched in the year 1385 (2006-2007) and now are under implementation with a progress of 90%.
He said with the operation of these projects in addition to increase in production capacity of valuable products effective steps will be taken in line with protection of the environment.
SRP, viscosity reduction and distillation units in operation sector, refining, maintenance and repair of the machinery and administrative units in support sector were introduced as the premier units of the refinery in 2013.
Indicators such as safety, health and environment, maintenance and repair, optimization of energy consumption and reduction of fuels were among major factors for the selection of premier units.
Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company with a refining capacity of 350 thousand barrels of crude oil and gas condensates is the third largest refinery in the country after Abadan and Isfahan in terms of refining capacity.
