Iraqi PM departs Tehran for Baghdad
Tehran, Oct 22, IRNA Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, wrapping up a 2-day visit to Iran, departed Tehran for Baghdad on Wednesday evening.
During his stay in Tehran, al-Abadi conferred with the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, Chairman of Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani, Head of Judiciary Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani and Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
His meeting with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was delayed to some other time due to al-Abadi's heavy schedule.

Al-Abadi met with senior clerics in the city of Qom on Wednesday.

The most important issue in his meetings with Iranian senior officials was strengthening cooperation with Iran in fight against terrorist groups in Iraq.

It was the first visit of the Iraqi premier to Tehran since he took office.
